MeditationĀ with Nature
How we cultivate our awareness matters.
These āMeditation with Natureā series are born out of the desire to share awareness training methods that simultaneously impart the many practical benefits of practicing in and with nature, while also cultivating relationship with the other living beings that we share this planet with.Ā
By opening to nature in this way, ultimately we are accessing fundamental truth; awareness of interbeing as our true state and the patterns and principles common to all life.Ā
Happily, meditation in and with nature is enjoyable, makes it easier to engage with a meditation practice and has a whole host of proven benefits.
These meditation series are shaped around the various intents you may bring to a meditation in nature practice, giving you a toolkit of ways to approach meditation in nature.Ā
Guided meditations help keep you focussed and open different doorways you may not otherwise discover. My hope is that over time, you need them less and less as you develop your personal toolkit and can use the various ways of meditating in/with Nature in more of a flow. Then 'practice' becomes almost synonymous with intentional time with Nature.

How to use them
Aside from the Inner Nature Series and visualisation practice, these series are designed to be listened to while out in nature. There are no accompanying tones or music so that you can be engaged as much as possible with your surroundings.Ā
You donāt have to be out in wild nature to enjoy the benefits. In fact, if you can choose locations that are more accessible to you, you will have much more success in establishing a habit, as well as developing relationship with your local area. A backyard or local park is fine. By a river or ocean is especially great for the practices done with eyes open.

Nature Observation Journal
Personally I have always journalled my time in nature separately to anything else, but those entries always ended up in random places so it feels nice to honour my time in nature with its own book. It also means it is easier to keep track of the threads of insight and curiosity that arise.
It is designed to support any form of learning from nature. This could be a sit spot practice, meditation, observing for reading a landscape or for understanding living systems.
The journal consists of 6 months worth of entry spaces, with some awareness prompts and inspirational quotes, in colour-coded sections so you can either use it in chronological order or have each section for a different theme or season. I would love to share it with you!
